Following a successful 2014- 2015 season the 2015 – 2016 Season of concerts will soon be upon us.

The first concert is on Friday 2nd October at 8.00pm in Egremont Market Hall. Eeden String Quartet will play Quartets by Mendelsohn, Bartok and Tchaikovsky

The second concert is on November 6th in the Falcon Club, Egremont. Chaconne Brass Quintet will play a wide range of pieces some written for brass quintet, others transcribed for this group. Composers range from Malcolm Arnold and Rossini to Duke Ellington.

For the Third concert we go back to the Market Hall on December 4th for a rousing performance by   ‘O Duo’. This is a return visit by the percussion duo previously with us in 2005.

In January, The Thorne Wind Trio come to the Market Hall on the 29th with a programme entitled ‘A journey through time’ and including pieces by Handel and Elgar

The last concert in this year’s series is The Rivoli String Quartet on March 4th in the Market Hall . Their programme will include Schubert’s Death and a Maiden Quartet and Schulhoff’s quartet.

The Market Hall and Falcon Club are fully accessible to wheelchair users and interval refreshments will be available.

Programmes are chosen to appeal to a wide range of musical tastes, with a variety of performers from soloists to small orchestras.  The society is keen to promote music that will involve schools and young people.
